Itsuki Udon: Fresh Noodle

Description

Deliciously thick, high-quality, chewy udon noodles, made in Japan for the rest of the world to enjoy! These udon are as easy to prepare as dried spaghetti, and they go terrifically well in noodle soups and cold noodle dishes.

Background

Udon are among the most widely enjoyed noodles in Japan, along with soba and ramen. Udon are thicker than soba and ramen, and part of the charm of udon is the satisfying chewy sensation one gets when one bites into udon.

How To Use

Making udon noodles is just like making pasta!
• Bring 2L of water to the boil, then add the noodles. Taking care to make sure the water does not boil over, cook for 7-8 minutes (for hot noodle dishes), or 9-10 minutes (for cold noodle dishes)
• For cold noodle dishes, strain noodles once they are done cooking and rince 2-3 times under cold running water. Serve with nori seaweed, wasabi paste, or cold tsuyu dipping sauce.
• For hot noodle dishes, add cooked noodles to a bowl and fill with warm tsuyu soup stock. Best served with sliced meats, fried tofu, or egg.
